Pickin' on the Square

June 7- Oct 20, 2008

Each Saturday during the summer, Franklin hosts Pickin' on the Square just down the street from First Baptist.  With hundreds of people literally at our doorstep, we cannot pass up such an incredible opportunity to show them the love of our Lord!  Come join us as we serve the children of our community through balloon animals, face painting, and crafts!

Operation Inasmuch

April 19, 2008

First Baptist Church joined in hundreds of other North Carolina churches for a day of missions.  We planted flowers, cleaned up the city, served tourists, and participated in building projects all in the name of Jesus our Lord!

Appalachian Trail Ministry

March 24-April 14, 2008

First Baptist Church partnered with an established Appalachian Trail ministry, Appalachian Trail Servants to serve hikers in the area.  Each year, about 1000 hikers walk through Franklin and we were happy to take advantage of this harvest!  From March 24-April 14 40 volunteers served 206 hikers from 26 states and 5 countries!  Most exciting, however, is that 46 Christian books were given out!  Each hikers walked away knowing that Christ's Church loves them!
